Greetings, I'm Mike Skoda, LPCC-S. I have over 15 years experience as a Clinical Counselor, Therapist, and Clinical Director. I bring attachment and humanistic lenses to my work, with an overall approach of self-compassion and compassion and empathy for those I serve. I have expertise in providing EMDR therapy for kids and adults; providing Emotionally-Focused Treatment for couples, individuals, and families as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (for Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.) As part of my practice, I believe in treating you like a beloved family member and honor you as a member of the human race no matter your age, race, gender, or chosen pronouns. I view those you entrust to me as a member of my family whether that be you, your son, daughter, parent, neighbor, family friend, or colleague at work. Most importantly, I use a relational approach, and I truly do my best to get to a felt sense of what it is like to walk in your shoes and to walk side by side with you in a very collaborative way so that you feel heard, understood, and together we will arrive with both straightforward and effective treatment plans and interventions uniquely tailored to meet your therapy needs. This approach will allow you to rebuild your roots and identity and give your life a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment!

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
