I could not be more grateful and lucky to have found Carmara. I felt comfortable from the beginning. She's attentive and honest. I feel like I am becoming the person I always wanted to be and have a better set of communication skills through the time I have spent working with her.

My name is Camara Capel and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Virginia. I graduated from University of West Florida with my Bachelor of Social Work and completed my Master of Social Work shortly after from the same school. I have experience working with groups, individuals and families from diverse populations including children, adolescents and adults. I have worked with clients dealing with various mood and personality disorders, anxiety, depression, sexual and gender identity challenges, psychosis, family relationship issues, and self-esteem issues. I believe the therapist/client relationship to be an important component for progress and am mindful to create a safe and nonjudgemental space where my clients can feel heard and validated. Although my approach is strength-based and solution-focused, my main focus is always to meet my clients where they are in order to allow for progress that is specific to my client’s needs and desires.
I recognize that taking the step to begin therapy is not always an easy one, but I am here to support and guide you in your journey to better health and hope to be able to empower you to work towards making positive changes for yourself and environment.
I look forward to working with you!
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $60 to $90 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
