Hi, I’m Ryan Urzen, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida with years of experience helping adults navigate life’s challenges. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and major life transitions. I also have a deep passion for helping people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their direction rediscover meaning and confidence in their lives.
I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University, where I served as Vice President of the Counseling Student Organization. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, where I completed a clinical internship in brain and spinal cord trauma at the John Heinz Rehabilitation Hospital.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and solution-focused. I incorporate techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and strengths-based strategies to help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts, build healthier coping skills, and feel more in control of their emotional well-being. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow at your own pace.
Whether you're looking to manage stress, heal from past pain, or find clarity during a difficult time, I’m here to help guide and support you. It’s an honor to walk alongside my clients as they work toward greater peace, purpose, and fulfillment.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Ryan is the first therapist that I feel really understands what my situation is. He doesn’t say the typical things that everyone else says that makes me feel like they don’t understand. Ryan makes me feel like I have hope!
Ryan doesn’t pretend to know more than you and lecture on things. He talks to you, listens intently, laughs with you and wants to help you be better. He’s the one person I can share everything with, even the things I have yet to share with myself and doesn’t bat an eye. It has been enlightening working with him. He’s a good dude.
Ryan was absolutely amazing! From the first session, I felt comfortable and he helped me understand why I felt the way I felt. He also helped me in ways I didn't expect therapy could help in, so thank you Ryan! Definitely a great therapist :)
