Hello, I am Kelly Walsh. I have a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of Evansville and Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky. I have specialized training in trauma treatment, but I am also conversant in the treatment of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, dissociative disorders, personality disorders, attachment issues, and relationship issues.
My treatment approach is to create a culture of safety and trust. Some people call this the therapeutic relationship. I believe in a concept created by Carl Rogers, a pioneer in psychotherapy, called "unconditional positive regard". Simply put, that means that regardless of what the client says in treatment, my job as the therapist is to respond to the client with respect, reverence, and kindness. This relational model allows the client to feel safe enough to do the work such as sharing and processing feelings, to achieve the goals they have chosen.
I have known from very early in my career that I wanted to practice psychotherapy. I also knew that I wanted to practice client-centered therapy which is basically just what is sounds like. I allow the client to guide the process and support them in their own path to feeling better. Further, I believe that there is a solution to every problem. I will build upon existing strengths and use an open approach to healing. For example, some people find humor effective in therapy. Others find story telling, music, and reminiscence to be helpful. We are not bound to conventional forms of treatment. I like to approach therapy individually, there is no one-size-fits-all, in my experience. And my experience is based not just on what I know or have learned from school, but also in my experience as human being. I have had lots of other roles in my life, like mother, daughter, partner,co-parent, to name some. I am proud of my teachings from life as well as the fact that my career turns 30 this year. I hope my experiences as a clinician and as a person can benefit you through therapy.
I invite the client to give feedback to me, so that I am aware of what is effective and what is not. It helps me as therapist to know what to eliminate if it isn't working.
I serve all populations with kindness and respect. My role in the queer community is that of ally.
Finally, Id like the reader of this profile to know that I have chosen this profession because I love it. I am privileged and humbled to be able to help in the way that I do. I feel rooted, connected, fulfilled when I am providing my kind of help. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing in your movement from where you are now to where you would like to be.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

I feel for the first time I will be able to work thru my issues with Kelly and begin to enjoy my life.
I've never had a therapist that called me out and connected with me like Kelly. I was dismissive about therapy before cause I never could find someone that I could talk to but that changed with Kelly. Highly recommend
Kelly is the absolute best. It’s been 2 years with her and my life has changed completely and for the absolute better.
Love her!
Kelly has been helping me recover from an abusive relationship with a parent, which led me to go no-contact with this parent. I feel that Kelly completely understands my situation, and I do appreciate her guidance through the different challenges that I have faced since making this decision. I would highly recommend her to anyone trying to heal from an abusive relationship.
Kelly is amazing.
Kelly is amazing. She seems to truly care about your problems and is very easy to talk to.
I am extremely grateful for Kelly. She has been helping me heal from a lifetime of emotional abuse from a parent with mental health issues and the family culture that has come with it. For the first time in my life, I am not in a constant state of stress. Her help was been invaluable.
Kelly is great, I always feel heard and supported
Kelly is empathic warm and kind. She is very good at maintaining boundaries and creating a healthy and safe space for me to work out my own struggles in a vulnerable way. She is incrid trustworthy and has never once said or done anything questionable. I have had a string of bad therapists and she is such a breathe of fresh air compared to them. So caring but still professional. I honestly didn't know this combo was possible. When I begin my graduate work I want to be half the therapist she is. She is really the top quality.
She is amazing. Super easy to talk to.
Positive strength based approach and a great listener. She’ll lead you in the right direction to heal yourself.
Kelly is the absolute best. I brag about how awesome she is to everyone/refer when I can!!
Patient and caring.
I absolutely love Kelly. She actually takes the time to listen to me and is never "going through the motions" as I've experienced with other therapists. She also has a different approach to having me think about things, which I love. I can't recommend her enough.
I felt seen and heard and love speaking with her.
She’s the best
With a background in Psychology as well as Sociology, Kelly Walsh deploys higher-than-average levels of expertise and empathy to great effect. She makes effective use of her skills to guide her clients with compassion and understanding towards the self-knowledge necessary to break negative patterns and to exercise the self-discipline necessary for self-care and recovery from trauma.
I've only had one session so far, but we seemed to mesh very well. I look forward to working with her in the future
Kelly is the very picture of what every t(era post should strive to be.
Kelly is a pleasure to work with. She’s super supportive and empathetic.
Kelly is REAL. She is kind, supportive, informative, funny, understanding, and GETS you. She made me feel very comfortable from the very first minute on, and I am able to share my trauma & drama with her easily, as if she is an old friend. Highly recommended!
She was very kind, patient and understanding.

I recommend Kelly as a therapist. She is extremely patient, encouraging and empathetic as a therapist. She is great at scheduling conflicts and following up on things.
I would recommend Kelly to anyone having similar problems to my own
Kelly is such a caring soul. It can be hard to find a therapist you connect with and we connected right off the bat. Her ability to listen and reframe situations has been invaluable. Her greatest strength, in my opinion, is her genuine nature.
She is helping me reshaping my life for the better.

Kelly has been compassionate and understanding while listening to my concerns and issues. She is knowledgeable and realistic about methods of coping and gives valuable feedback/advice that has helped me tremendously. Kelly is relatable and personable which has made me much more comfortable discussing difficult topics with her.
Kelly is very easy to talk to. You'll need more than 30 minutes as the conversation starts flowing then next thing you know the clock has run out. I feel like she is more of a friend than a therapist in the few short weeks that we have met.
Kelly is a very supportive and attentive counsellor. She offers a holistic approach to your mental wellbeing and does so in a non judgemental way. I'm delighted to have her as my therapist and I would even say now, as a friend.
I finally found a therapist that suits my needs.
