My counseling style is warm, patient, and accepting. I am a good listener and enjoy the interactive nature of the counseling relationship. My life experience as well as my training informs my treatment approach which is primarily cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic. I can provide an emotionally safe place for you to work with what you bring to the conversation and will honor your uniqueness.

I am aware of the courage it takes to pursue greater fulfillment and happiness and admire your willingness to reach out. Small changes can make a difference, if you are ready to grow I can provide support and help for you.

I love working with LaVina! She's the first therapist that I've connected with that gives me such useful information and insight. In the past, I always felt like I was doing all the talking and never got anything out of my previous therapists. I am SO grateful to have been matched with her! Therapy isn't easy, but nothing in life is ever easy. You need to make the commitment to yourself to do the hard work, and LaVina makes the hard work feel easy. Highly recommend!

LaVina has been a wonderful counselor for me. I have had over 10 different counselors and therapists throughout my 27 years of life and from only 1 video chat and a number of messages, LaVina is in my top 2. She explains concepts thoroughly yet simply, which I appreciate tremendously since I tend to question why certain things are done/recommended, and she is very considerate, personable, poignant, and easy to open to. I'm sad I won't be able to continue my sessions with her due to unforeseen financial troubles but I hope to reconnect with her once I'm more financially stable.
