More about Sarah

  • 21 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a proud graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Social Work!

As a therapist, I consider myself an everyday resource, accessible resource, offering a safe and supportive space for individuals to navigate and process life's various stressors.

I do not believe you have to have a formal diagnosis to receive the benefits of therapy, I recognize insurance requires as formal diagnosis. I dislike being label locked.

I am not EMDR trained, I work with many trauma therapists collaboratively in related cases and conducts preliminary work for trauma processing and EMDR processing.

I take an integrated approach from many modalities including Accepting, Solution Focused, CBT, Cognitive Restructuring among others.

I am down to earth, rarely speak in clinical "speak" unless trying to educate and I love to laugh and make therapy the best possible experience. The alliance between me and my client is the best indicator of success.

I have over 20 years of experience in multiple setting including schools and community mental health and private practice.

I love just providing a safe place for anyone to help sort out difficulties or process life in general.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Sarah is so good at finding worksheets that help me challenge my thoughts. When she comments on what I wrote, it gives me a different perspective on my experience. When we talk on the phone, we discover my triggers which helps her personalize the thereby.
