I have struggled with moderate to severe anxiety for all my life. Mainly around work issues related to me creating risks and causing disasters and the fear that I feel every day about the fear of responsibility for causing bad things to happen. I have had a number of therapists in the past (maybe around 7 or 8). I had differing experiences with these therapists. I have now been speaking to Samantha on a weekly basis for around 5 months I believe. I really feel now that I have found a therapist that works in a way that is very effective for me. Firstly, Samantha is super warm and obviously cares a lot about her clients. It is very obvious from how she speaks to you that she really puts herself in your shoes. I have had therapists before who, I believe in the aim of being professional, have failed to make that personal connection with me. For me having someone who I feel is invested in me as a person is super important and Samantha is exceptional in this regard. Secondly, Samantha is not afraid to tell you as it is when that is the right thing to do. For example, during one of our review sessions after two months she told me that over the past few weeks it was clear that the therapy had not been working. This allowed us to quite frankly address why I wasn't improving. This has in turn allowed me to identify what I actually need to do to improve. Too many times with previous therapists I have gone through the motions and said things were fine, when there was no real change. Samantha has really encouraged me through her direct honesty to realise the important responsibility I have to make real changes, and how I make these changes, rather than just turning up to my session once a week and expecting to be better because I paid money for therapy. Samantha will adapt her sessions to you. She is very smart in this way. She will sense when you need to download. She will also take control of the session and direct it to help give you direction. Further, she has a really good sense of humour. In addition to learning a lot and self reflecting, I always come away feeling like I have enjoyed the session which is quite impressive when you’ve spent 45 minutes in which a large portion you have spoken about things that deeply trouble you. She really helps you start to shift that perspective and give you techniques to go away to go and put that into practice. I am so happy with Samantha as my therapist and I am extremely grateful to have found a therapist that really works for me.

Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, particularly if you are used to coping with things on your own. My aim is to provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly, feel heard and begin making sense of what you are experiencing.
I have been practising as a counsellor and psychotherapist since 2011 and specialise in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, relationship difficulties and the psychological impact of difficult or overwhelming life experiences.
Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of clients from a wide range of backgrounds, both in the UK and internationally. I also have extensive experience working with veterans, police officers, emergency-service personnel and other first responders from the UK, US and Canada.
You certainly do not need to be a veteran or first responder to work with me. I work with people from all walks of life, and one of the things I value most is creating an environment in which people can simply be themselves.
My therapeutic style is warm, down-to-earth and interactive. Therapy with me isn't about sitting silently while you do all the talking. I will listen carefully, ask questions, offer insight and, where appropriate, challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship should be built on trust, respect, compassion and honesty.
I work integratively, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy and psychodynamic approaches. Rather than trying to fit you into one particular model of therapy, I tailor our work to you, your experiences and what you would like to achieve.
Trauma & PTSD Experience
Trauma and PTSD are particular areas of specialist interest and experience for me. Alongside my clinical work, I have written professional training and Continuing Professional Development material relating to PTSD and suicide awareness.
I have also delivered keynote presentations on PTSD to organisations including the Metropolitan Police Specialist Firearms Command (SCO19) and the National Crime Agency (NCA).
This experience has given me a particular understanding of people who may have spent years functioning under pressure, looking after others or simply getting on with life while carrying experiences that have never really been processed.
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what is wrong or what you want to talk about. Sometimes knowing that something needs to change is enough of a starting point.
How I Work
I offer both video and telephone therapy sessions.
You are welcome to message me between appointments, although I do not provide therapy sessions through messaging. I believe the depth and quality of therapeutic work is better supported through real-time conversation.
My qualifications and professional training include:
Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy
Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling – Level 4
Post Traumatic Stress Management – Level 4 Practitioner
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – Level 4 Practitioner
Anger & Aggression Management – Level 4 Practitioner
Transactional Analysis in Relationships – Level 4 Practitioner

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Samantha has been truly amazing. She has not only listened, but advised, given me excellent guidance, made me laugh and given me a much better way of thinking and changed my mindset. I really recommend her and her wealth of experience! Thank you Sam.

I'm not the best at writhing reviews bit the time I have spent with Samantha as helped me so much and my life as changed for the better so glad that I we met
Samantha’s really good, and has been really helpful.
Samantha is a very knowledgeable, compassionate and honest therapist who trusts her client as an equal, to work with- rather than a subject, to work on. To say my treatment with Samntha has revolutionised my understanding of key elements of myself is an understatement... This is after 3 sessions!! Samantha is a treasure and I am so grateful to have her on my team <3
Great therapist, I appreciate her, she genuinely brings more value to my life, I can be open and talk about anything, and she is there to listen! Good times.
Samantha Hudson offers first class, empathetic advice in a friendly, professional and practical manner
Literal queen, you’re lucky if you get her
I felt seen and supported. Thank you so much!
Starting therapy can be hard, but I am grateful for being paired with Samantha by the algorithm. Initially, there was a goal-setting part for our sessions, which helped me a lot in deciding why I reached out to therapy and what I would like by the end of it. I wasn't sure if it was a good match in the beginning, but after 3 sessions, I managed to connect with my therapist and started entering therapy with a more open mind, ready to be vulnerable and make the personal changes that would lead to me achieving my goals. Samantha actively listened to my thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and I felt understood. She is very professional as she was focused on how she could assist me in achieving my initial goals, unlocking my personal potential but also giving me the space to express myself, think about how "success" looks like for me, and meet my goals under my own standards. She inspired me to ask the "hard" questions to define a life of happiness or identify how I want my life to look, feel like, and include. The current BetterHelp platform helps with the review process and setting up the goals right from the start. Samantha also gave more hands-on exercises and included a variety of practices during our sessions. I am very thankful to her for supporting me on this journey, and I would recommend her!
I am so happy to find Samantha, she is very kind and understands very well my problems that I deal with, we are working together to make the change necessary for my life.
The best. Played a big role in my self improvement during a tough time in my life. Very professional and patient with me. Excellent PTSD/ Trauma therapist. Loved that I could see her via video even though I'm in the US. Relatable to my life experiences. Easy to talk with.
My time working with Samantha has been wonderful! Samantha has genuinely changed my outlook on many aspects of life and I’m forever grateful for our time together. She provided me with resources and tools that I can apply moving forward outside of therapy. I’d recommend Samantha to everyone if I could! She made therapy a stress free, relaxing environment and something I looked forward to attending every week.
Very professional, able to give clear guidance to help you when you feel lost.
She is absolutely amazing! I just love how she is so understanding, non -judgmental and approachable. She is professional but also compassionate. I am also pleased with how she provides you with very informative worksheets, that are literally life changing. Thank you Samantha!
Samantha has been an amazing support system for me, and I'm extremely happy with the way she works. She is not only super professional but also sweet, which makes it easier to share my thoughts and feelings with her. What I loved the most about Samantha is her ability to approach things with a bit of humor, which made our sessions more comfortable and relaxed. I felt understood and heard, which helped me open up about my traumas, something that I had been struggling with for years. Samantha's expertise and guidance have helped me deal with my traumas in just six weeks. I can't believe how much progress I've made with her help. I feel more empowered and confident in managing my emotions and reactions to triggers. One of the things that I appreciated the most was that Samantha sends information every week for her patients to learn about PTSD, what it means, and how to ultimately heal themselves. This was a game-changer for me because it helped me understand my condition better and gave me the tools to work on my healing journey. Overall, I highly recommend Samantha to anyone who is struggling with PTSD or any other mental health issue. She is a skilled, caring, and compassionate therapist who truly cares about her patients' well-being.
Definitely talking with Samantha was a great opportunity. She helped me to know myself and my values better. I appreciate her empathy and the way that she validate feelings and thoughts.
Massive thank you to Sam, she was incredibly supportive and easy to speak to during our sessions. I always felt listened to and that the discussions were in a safe space and after 6 weeks I feel like we have made great progress! Highly recommend her services!
Samantha has been a pillar. Not only has she helped me understand myself, and others around me, but she has empowered me to know that I am worthy of acceptance from myself. She has helped me understand the world around me and become more resilient to its ever changing dynamics. Sam has facilitated sessions with an adaptive approach, helping me to understand theories of why I may feel a certain way, but also showed compassion in each session I'd highly recommend Samantha and will be forever grateful for what I have experienced, and my growth, through working with her
Sam has had a transformational impact on my life, working through past traumas, regaining control over my emotions; and growing as a person. Sam is easy to talk to and it's clear from the outset that she has your best interests at heart. She makes therapy enjoyable - and after having 3 previous therapists across 12 years, I didn't think that was possible. I am so grateful that I had Sam as my therapist and would have no hesitation in recommending her.
Samantha is superb. I’m going through a divorce and she has been a godsend.
Samantha has a uniquely compassionate attitude and is wonderful to talk to. I couldn't have asked for a better therapist. I'm sad to be leaving but I am proud to have achieved my therapy goals in 8 sessions with Sam. She is funny, relatable, and most of all she is proud of me for my progress. I feel very lucky to have had Samantha to lend her ear and expertise and work through my problems; she is the reason I now feel I can tackle life again head on. I can't recommend her enough!
I've had therapists before but none quite like Sam. I highly recommend you choose her as your therapist. She has been consistently engaged and respectful in all my sessions helping me through past traumas with both compassion and knowledge. She has helped me grow through some of the toughest times and memories, learning about both the science of the mind/body and the innate imperfections of being humans. I connected with her easily, creating a relationship of trust where I felt deeply heard and seen. I'm so grateful she chose to be a therapist because she's a bloody good one.
These sessions have transformed me, Samantha is direct and kind and knowledgeable. I felt safe talking to her and she gave me some great tools
Samantha has assisted me a lot as I am able to control my emotions better
