More about Hannah

  • 5 years' experience

My name is Hannah and I'm an accredited therapist through the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have been working as qualified therapist for five years and during this time I have developed experience in treating a range of mental health concerns. This includes difficulties like self-harm, relationship concerns, family conflict, bereavement, low self-esteem, depression, stress, anxiety and many more.

I have a degree in Psychology (BSc, 2:1 - Queen's University Belfast) and a Masters in Counselling (MSc, Distinction - Ulster University). I'm trained as an integrative therapist, which means I select the appropriate therapeutic technique(s) depending on the unique needs of my clients. Therapeutic approaches I often utilise in my work with clients include person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and the psychodynamic approach.

I am passionate about providing a safe and comfortable space for clients to share their honest thoughts and feelings. My goal in therapy is to support clients to better understand themselves, work towards their personal goals for therapy and manage any difficulties they may be facing in life.

When you work with me, you can expect that building trust and safety in our relationship will be my first priority. I firmly believe that the relationship between a client and their therapist is the most important element of therapy. Throughout our sessions I will check in with you to ensure you feel comfortable and that our sessions are meeting your support needs. I offer sessions through a range of means; video call, phone call and live messaging.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
