I used therapy once before and it did not work. But Cyndi has been an ideal therapist that I always wish for. She has great expertise and always pays careful attention to all the things I says, that makes me really feel understood and supported. Going with her, I am pretty confident that I could be healed and solve problems that have been rooted for a too long time and badly affected my relationship.

More about Cyndi

  • 10 years' experience
  • Female
  • BACP

I am a qualified therapist with over 10 years’ experience working within mental health across community services, schools, and day centres, as well as private practice.

I work with adults, children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, low self-esteem, and relational difficulties.

Many clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful cycles, or struggling to understand their emotional responses. My focus is on helping you gain clarity, emotional stability, and a deeper understanding of what is driving your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

I hold a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and work integratively, tailoring therapy to each individual.

WHY WORK WITH ME

Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and it is important to feel safe, understood, and confident in the support you receive.

Clients often choose to work with me because I offer:

A calm, grounded therapeutic space where you can speak freely without judgement.

Over 10 years of real clinical experience across children, families, and adult mental health.

An integrative approach, meaning therapy is adapted to you rather than a fixed method.

A balance of depth and practicality, exploring root causes while also focusing on real change in daily life.

Experience with complex emotional patterns, including anxiety, OCD, and low self-worth.

A relational, human approach where you are met with warmth, respect, and consistency.

My aim is not just to support you in coping, but to help you understand yourself more deeply so that lasting emotional change becomes possible.

MY APPROACH

I work integratively, drawing from:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Psychodynamic Therapy.

Solution-Focused Therapy.

Christian counselling principles (upon request).

In practice, this may involve:

Identifying and challenging unhelpful thinking patterns.

Exploring past experiences shaping present emotional responses.

Reducing anxiety cycles, compulsions, and avoidance behaviours.

Building emotional regulation and resilience.

Strengthening confidence and self-understanding.

Therapy is always adapted to your pace and your needs.

HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP

Counselling can help if you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted and want things to change.

I commonly support clients experiencing:

Anxiety (overthinking, panic, physical symptoms, constant worry).

OCD (intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviours, reassurance cycles).

Depression (low mood, lack of motivation, emotional numbness).

Low self-esteem (self-criticism, shame, people-pleasing).

Relationship and family difficulties (conflict, communication issues, emotional distance).

Through therapy, clients often begin to:

Understand themselves and their patterns more clearly.

Feel less controlled by thoughts and emotions.

Respond more calmly and intentionally.

Improve confidence and emotional stability.

Experience greater clarity and peace in daily life.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN & ADOLESCENTS

I also specialise in working with children and young people who may be struggling emotionally, socially, or behaviourally.

This may include:

Anxiety related to school, friendships, or separation.

Low confidence or self-esteem difficulties.

Emotional overwhelm or shutdown.

Behavioural challenges at home or school.

OCD traits or intrusive thoughts.

In my work with young people, I focus on:

Helping them understand and express emotions safely.

Building emotional resilience and confidence.

Developing practical coping strategies.

Supporting parents to respond effectively and consistently.

Strengthening family communication and connection.

My aim is to create a space where children feel safe, understood, and supported in a way that leads to meaningful change.

Training, qualifications & experience

have over 10 years of experience working within mental health across a range of settings including community mental health services, schools, and day centres.

I hold a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and work with a wide range of emotional and psychological presentations across all age groups.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Cyndi has been wonderful for me from the first meeting. Couldn’t speak higher of her.

Reviewed December 2022

I have been having weekly therapy sessions with Cyndi for 2-3 months regarding my life at home, my attachment style and also breaking up with a partner. Cyndi has been so supportive and helpful. The tools she has provided me to work on my self esteem, my anxiety and stress has been great. I am actively using these tools and I have found myself in a more positive mood with a better outlook on life. She has been patient and kind with me throughout the last few months and also has responded to me via message outside of our calls. I highly recommend her! Thank you so much Cyndi for your help. I appreciate it!

Reviewed November 2022

I’ve had extensive experience of counselling and therapy before and often struggled with building the necessary rapport, confidence and trust and given up fairly quickly. Working with Cyndi has been a revelation- the rapport, confidence and trust seems to have been built up really quickly and I feel very encouraged that the issues I am dealing with have surfaced very quickly and I am feeling very supported from the first appointment. Highly recommend.
