More about Michelle

Welcome, my name is Michelle. As an integrative therapist working in the UK, I believe there is no one way that works for all. I combine different therapeutic approaches which give the flexibility to tailor the therapy to your individual needs.

Therapeutic Approach

As an integrative therapist, I draw on Gestalt, Psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches.

• Gestalt therapy; focusing on the ‘here and now’ holistic awareness of your mind and body; immediate thoughts, feelings, emotions and present behaviours.

• Psychodynamic therapy; exploring how unconscious processes, childhood experiences, and past relationships which shapes how you feel and relates today.

• CBT; helping to identify and challenge negative thought patterns and helps break cycles of distress.

This allows me to adapt my practice to meet each client’s unique needs. I am passionate about supporting individuals who want to feel more like themselves and live a more fulfilling life, including building healthier relationships and creating a life that feels meaningful to them.

My work is centred on building a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, accepted, and understood. I aim to support clients in exploring their experiences, increasing self-awareness, and developing healthier coping strategies. I pay particular attention to how past experiences may have influenced your present thoughts, feelings, and relationships, and help you to detangle from recurring life struggles that are holding you back.

I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, depression and low mood, relationship issues, coping with grief and loss, anger management. bullying, divorce & separation.

I believe the most important element of therapy is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. I offer a calm approach where I will always listen and work in a way in which you can feel empowered in your own life, giving you an opportunity to feel deeply heard, accepted, and understood.

I believe everyone is important and deserves to be heard, whether you are looking for a brief focused approach or to work long-term on deeper issues. There is no fixed time frame and we will go at your pace. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
