Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

James is amazing

He is friendly and yet professional as well askind, caring and compassionate. He listens and seeks to understand in a sympathetic and non-judgmental way. You can tell he truly cares about you and wants to see you happy and healthy. He makes himself available to me and is flexible with scheduling. He always responds promptly to my messages and is on time for our meetings. I appreciate his insight that comes from his many years of education and experience and I have faith in his abilities to help guide me.

He is a direct straight forward honest to the point person. He listens to everything I say and understands what I am trying to say even when I can't explain it the way I want. He offers ideas and options for the direction of help and lets me decide what I feel the right choice is. At the same time reminds me that even if we go down one treatment path and it doesn't seem to make sense or work for me we can switch it up to try to find a better path for treatment. He works with me on scheduling outside what I would call the normal hours.

He's the best!

My first session with Jim taught me the ins and outs of betterhelp and I genuinely think there is no one as kind that I could have been placed with instead. He's a great listener but is also great at filling in the cracks and keeping things lively. He's professional and has made me feel comfortable and I'm grateful to be sharing this experience with him.
