Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, particularly if you've spent much of your life feeling misunderstood or judged. My aim is to offer a space where you don't have to explain or justify who you are. A space where you can simply be yourself.
I'm Gavin Reid BA (Hons), an Integrative Therapist and Advanced Accredited Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) Therapist with Pink Therapy, one of the UK's leading organisations for specialist LGBTQ+ therapy and training. My entire practice has been built around supporting LGBTQ+ people, and I have over 1,000 hours of experience working with clients from across our community.
As a gay man, I also bring lived experience to my work. I know how exhausting it can be to wonder whether you'll have to educate your therapist, hide parts of your life, or question whether they'll truly understand your experiences.
For me, being LGBTQ+ affirming is about far more than simply accepting someone's identity. It's about understanding the lasting psychological impact that minority stress, shame, bullying, discrimination and systemic oppression can have on the way we see ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. Therapy should never begin with you having to explain why these experiences matter.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, self-worth, identity, trauma, relationships, coming out, family difficulties, addiction, recovery, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy offers a space to understand not just what you're feeling, but why.
My approach is integrative, drawing on person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness and trauma-informed practice. Rather than following a rigid model, I tailor therapy to your individual needs while keeping the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work.
Above all, I believe therapy should feel collaborative, compassionate and genuinely affirming. My role isn't to tell you who to be, but to help you better understand yourself, develop self-acceptance and create meaningful, lasting change.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
