Hi, my name is Glen Cognac, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, heal from trauma, and find lasting recovery. I specialize in working with adults facing substance use, co-occurring mental health disorders, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and family stress.

I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology from the University of South Florida in Tampa. My clinical background spans a variety of settings, including residential treatment centers, outpatient programs, community-based services, and crisis stabilization units. I’ve spent much of my career working closely with individuals in recovery from addiction, but I’ve also supported clients through grief, relationship struggles, and personal growth.

My treatment approach is client-centered, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care. I believe that in order to truly grow and heal, we must first develop a deeper understanding of ourselves—both the parts we’re proud of and the parts we might struggle with. When we can better understand why we do what we do, we can begin to make meaningful changes in our thoughts, behaviors, and patterns.

My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable exploring your story, identifying the root causes of your challenges, and building practical skills to move forward. Whether you’re looking to improve your relationships, find work-life balance, or overcome obstacles from the past, I’m here to walk alongside you in that process.

I look forward to the opportunity to support you.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
