More about Sharon

Since 2021, I have worked with a Sexual Survivors Trust as an integrative counsellor, supporting adults, young adults, and adolescents who have experienced sexual violence. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and understood as you explore the challenges affecting your wellbeing.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs combining elements from various counselling models such as as person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques, and in doing so, creating a way of working that fits you, rather than expecting you to fit a set method. We will work together at your pace, I aim to help you process difficult experiences, develop coping strategies, and rebuild a sense of hope, resilience, and self-trust.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent many years working in safeguarding roles supporting individuals and families through some of the most challenging times in their lives. This experience inspired me to retrain so I could offer ongoing support beyond the immediate crisis.

Whether you are looking to make sense of past experiences, manage overwhelming feelings, or simply have a space where you feel truly listened to, I am here to walk alongside you with care, understanding, and respect.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
