Our relationship is new, but thus far, he seems to be listening to me, and acknowledges what I'm saying & wanting, and wants to focus on what I'm most concerned about.

I've had an excellent experience working with my therapist. He is compassionate, knowledgeable, and truly takes the time to listen without judgment. From our first session, he created a safe and supportive environment where I felt comfortable being open and honest. His insights have helped me better understand myself, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful progress toward my goals. He is patient, professional, and genuinely invested in the well-being of his clients. I'm incredibly grateful for his guidance and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, skilled, and effective therapist. He has made a real difference in my life, and I can't thank him enough.

More about Johnnie

  • 4 years' experience
  • Male
  • LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia with experience helping adults and couples navigate anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, anger, life transitions, intimacy concerns, and other challenges that can leave you feeling overwhelmed or unsure of what to do next.

I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest without feeling judged. My approach is supportive, direct, and collaborative. I will listen to you, but I will also challenge you when appropriate, help you recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and work with you to develop practical strategies that can be applied outside of our sessions.

My therapeutic approach incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused interventions, mindfulness, strengths-based strategies, and trauma-informed care. Rather than using the same approach with everyone, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, experiences, values, and goals.

Relationships are also an important part of my work. Whether you are dealing with communication problems, trust issues, infidelity, separation, family conflict, or simply trying to understand why certain patterns continue showing up in your relationships, we can work together to identify what is happening beneath the surface and develop healthier ways of responding.

My doctoral training and research in psychology have further strengthened my commitment to integrating evidence-based knowledge with practical clinical care. At the same time, I recognize that you are more than a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. Your experiences, relationships, culture, values, strengths, and personal story all matter in the therapeutic process.

You do not have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes the starting point is simply recognizing that something needs to change. My role is to meet you where you are, help you understand where you have been, and work alongside you as you determine where you want to go next.

I look forward to working with you.
