I’m a Qualified Social Worker and trauma-informed practitioner with nearly three decades of experience encompassing general counselling, extensive practical and social support of people impacted by dementia and their families, hospital, community, crisis support and risk assessment for suicide, self-harm, and domestic violence. My counselling experience includes supporting adults who are navigating relationship difficulties, family conflict, self-esteem, various addictions, and survivors of abuse and trauma. I have also worked with bereavement, grief and loss, carer fatigue/stress and other major life stressors. I’ve worked within NSW Health, non-profit organisations and the Australian Public Service. I am currently qualifying as a crisis support officer with Lifeline Australia.

Feedback from clients describes me as having a warm, relaxed, and collaborative style with a touch of humour. I use a range of modalities in my work like Acceptace and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive and Behavioural therapy, motivational and interpersonal therapies. I work using a strengths-based, cultural and trauma -informed lens. My focus is on understanding your unique story, your life context and exploring what a satisfying and safe world would look like for you. Together we’ll set realistic goals, build on your existing strengths and introduce you to practical strategies and further supports to help you achieve your goals.

I try to create an honest, non-judgemental space where you can speak freely about your thoughts and feelings – including things you may not feel comfortable saying to family and friends. I believe it takes courage to reach out for support and to work toward a more fulfilling and hopeful life. My role is to walk alongside you, support you to make sense of what’s happening, and empower you to take the next step.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
