Gregg Palmer MA, PG Dip, BSc Hons, ACA, Counsellor

I am an experienced counsellor with extensive experience supporting adults navigating stress, difficult or traumatic experiences, and periods of crisis.

I work within a relational, embodied, and psychospiritual framework, with a particular focus on unconscious processes informed by transference and countertransference dynamics.

I have particular experience supporting people who have been through difficult or traumatic experiences and those navigating periods of profound emotional distress, including feelings of self-hatred, loss of meaning, or diminished self-worth. When life feels especially difficult, having a skilled professional alongside you who is familiar with these experiences can provide meaningful support.

There is also no concern that is too small to bring to counselling. People sometimes feel that what they are experiencing is not significant enough to seek support, but counselling can offer a space to explore whatever is important to you.

I have particular experience supporting clients with the following concerns, but if your concern is not listed below, please contact me to discuss whether I may be able to support you:

Addiction / Anger / Relationship Issues / Work-Related Issues / Stress and Anxiety / Sexuality and Sexual Issues / Identity Issues / Bereavement and Loss / Low Mood / Spirituality and Meditation / Lack of Confidence / Significant Mood Changes / Anxiety / Identity Concerns / Spiritual Crises / Low Self-Esteem / Panic and Overwhelming Emotions / Periods of Significant Emotional Distress

Qualifications

I hold a BSc Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip), and a Masters in Psychotherapy (MA). The latter two qualifications were validated by the University of East London and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Training

I trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust and am a Level 3 member of ACA. I work in accordance with the professional body's code of ethics.

My psychosynthesis training was integrative, drawing from different schools of psychology, and my counselling approach has a depth-oriented focus.

Other Work

In addition to my private practice, I have been Clinical Director of a counselling placement service, where I worked within a multidisciplinary team across a range of approaches.

I have also periodically assisted with psychosynthesis training programmes for counsellors and practitioners.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
