More about Caitlin

  • 7 years' experience

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a broad range of experience across community mental health, university counseling centers, residential treatment, crisis response services, and integrative behavioral health. While I have worked with clients as young as five, my practice now focuses on adults across all phases of life.

I specialize in trauma treatment which is my passion. I am EMDR trained and have adapted this modality for the virtual platform, and I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, practicing from a trauma-informed lens throughout.

As a therapist, I believe the relationship we form is central to change and transformation. Before I can enter a client's world, they must feel truly seen, understood, and validated — and building that trusting relationship is at the heart of my work with every client. My graduate and post-graduate training centered cultural humility as a cornerstone of practice, recognizing that each person's identities are central to their experience. I have worked extensively with underserved populations, and I've had the privilege of mentors, colleagues, and educators who challenged me to broach culturally sensitive topics to better understand each client's experience within our society.

I've worked with individuals facing PTSD and other trauma-related disorders, relationship difficulties, depression, and generalized anxiety, as well as helping professionals navigating compassion fatigue and burnout. I also enjoy supporting clients as they explore career goals, aspirations, and barriers — helping them find work that feels meaningful and purposeful.

My clinical approach draws on Person-Centered therapy, CBT, Internal Family Systems (IFS), humanistic, and psychodynamic frameworks. I tailor this to what each client needs, whether that means exploring deep-rooted issues from childhood, understanding and altering relational patterns, addressing present-day symptoms, or building a strong toolkit of coping strategies for everyday well-being. You are the guide in this experience.

Everyone is worthy. Everyone has a story. Everyone has strengths. Everyone deserves support. I'm excited to work with you and be part of your journey forward!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
