Hi! I am Rose. I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT) and Registered Nurse. I appreciated serving patients and their parents at Children's National, one of the top ten pediatric hospitals in the US. My life goal was to obtain my Master's Degree. As a nurse, I enjoyed providing emtional and educational support to my families and chose to follow my joy and attended The University of Maryland for my BS and MS in Family Studies, one of the top three educational programs for becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist in the US. My LCMFT program taught me to look at challenges that happen inside us and between us. As a nurse and Marriage and Family therapist, I look at the entire person-physical. mental and emotional.

As a nurse I was educated in the "medical model" where dis-ease is seen as being "in the person". As a Marriage and Famiy therapist, I was trained in "systems theory" which looks not only at how we interact with ourselves internally, but looks at the system we live in, for any arrangement of family, and how our interactions with others impacts our mental health. For example, is a client depressed because of an internal imbalance of chemistry, and/or is the client depressed due to pressure to succeed in school, fights with his parents about his grades, and fights with his parents and siblings about his friends.

To treat a client I look at internal and external factors that impact a client's mental health. I help clients set goals, look at what is going well in their life and what is not serving them anymore and help them change their interactions inside themselves and with others. I help clients to find their "voice" to help them change the outcome of their day to day lived experience at home, work and play. I find this approach comprehensive and uplifting. I enjoy working with clients and see everyone as resilient. I am a strength-based therapist. It takes courage to ask for help and enter therapy. I see a client's strengths from day one!! It is a joy to help people "rescue themselves" and learn to live their best lives.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
