More about Patricia

My extensive clinical experience has focused on cultural diversity with individuals, couples and families who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, couple/family dysregulation and conflict, OCD, ADHD, medical trauma, women’s health issues, traumatic brain injury/neurodivergent individuals and the impact on their support systems, with client ages from 16+ years of age. My clientele appreciate that I am culturally competent and respectful regardless of culture of origin and religious affiliation. My clients feel validated and supported during our interactions, which is always my goal.

I provide therapy that is conducive to client needs; there is no such thing as “one size fits all.” For this reason, I carefully evaluate client needs and goals by beginning with a required free 15 minute consultation at least 24 hours in advance of a scheduled session while I focus our sessions on support, and offer a comprehensive Biopsychosocial assessment with client collaboration beginning at intake. Few therapists understand neurodivergent conditions such as TBI and the difficulty navigating chronic health conditions, making therapy for these clients less accessible. I am here to fill that gap and offer insight and empathy using a strength-based approach.

Mental health, substance abuse, and medical traumas are often improperly addressed, leading to poor treatment. I value being thorough in my work to ensure my clients receive the comprehensive and compassionate treatment they deserve. There is no hierarchy in my sessions; I see myself as your source of support and want you to have a voice in every session.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
